Safety and Compliance

Oryx systems are designed and installed in line with safety, environmental and regulatory standards. This ensures compliant and reliable fuel handling and also provides operators with peace of mind throughout all their applications.

Tank installations are designed to meet ADR requirements while operating within thresholds that avoid the need for additional licensing or driver certification.

Systems include:

• Correct labelling and signage across the tank, dispenser and vehicle
• Fire extinguishers
• Spill kits
• Emergency shut-off
• Isolation controls
• Driver awareness guidance

Environmental safety is built into the design of every system. Fuel tanks are bunded and specifically developed for mobile use, with integrated spill containment and additional spill kits provided.

Refuelling and spill response guidance is included, supported by clearly communicated procedures, including emergency actions. This helps ensure operators are fully prepared to handle different situations safely and effectively.

To support compliance with health and safety responsibilities, templates for risk assessments and method statements are provided. Suggested training courses and initial familiarisation are also included to help operators understand best working practices.

All systems are pressure tested, wet tested and quality assured before handover. These tests are done to check for leaks or weaknesses in the tank, pipework and connections before use to ensure everything works properly.

Fuel dispensers are fitted with MID (Measuring Instruments Directive) certification plates, ensuring accurate measurement and compliance with retail fuel regulations. Essentially, this means the system is approved to measure fuel accurately and helps ensure customers get exactly the amount of fuel they pay for.
